We at the Modern Black Belle LOVE sparkling drinks and really, who doesn’t!?! The added bubbles gives any drink a lighter and refreshing twist while the tingle on our tongues leaves us feeling fun. You might not find the recipes on this list easily at your local bar, but you can definitely make them at home. Let’s jump in and see what your next party drinks are going to be!
1. The Big Ginger
The big ginger is quite the refresher with ginger ale as the bubbly addition and lemon & lime garnishes. A simple, but crisp twist on the whiskey ginger will having you coming back for more.
1 parts Irish Whiskey
2 parts Ginger Ale
Fill glass with ice. Pour in the whiskey and then top with ginger ale. Garnish with both lemon and lime wedges. TIP: For some added flavor, squeeze in some of the juices from the lemons and limes.
2. Cruzan® Lemonade
Every good drink list must include a lemonade, right? And what better lemonade than a boozy, fizzy version. Much like the Big Ginger, this drink offers something refreshing, and by using sweet rum and lemon-lime soda, this lemonade is sure to quench your thirst.
1 part Cruzan® Rum
1 splash of lime juice
2 parts your favorite Lemon-Lime Soda
Fill glass with ice and pour in rum. Top off with lemon-lime soda and then a splash of lime juice. Garnish with a lime wedge.
3. Key Lime Sparkler
What says Spring is here more than Key Lime flavors? By adding an orange liqueur and bitters to offset a sweet rum, and (of course) some sparkling wine (the fizz), you get a burst of citrus that will dance on your tongue all night long.

1/2 parts orange liqueuer
2 dashes of bitters
1 part your favorite sparkling wine
A twist of orange
Stir the rum, orange liqueur and bitters with some ice. Strain into a glass and top off with the sparkling wine. Garnish with a twisted orange peel or wedge. Tip: Try using Grand Marnier® for a smooth orange flavor.
4. Coconut Spritzer
In the words of Amy Santiago & Jake Peralta, A-B-C: Always Be Coconut-ing. Aside from loving the fact that this is a qualifying fizzy drink, we love that this drink sweeps us away to the island in our heads. Mixing coconut and pineapple flavors brings us one of our favorite spritzers.
1 part Pinnacle® Coconut Vodka
2 parts soda water
1 splash of pineapple juice
Stir the vodka, pineapple juice and soda in a glass. Top with crushed ice and garnish with the pineapple slice.
5. The Juicy Screw
If you like the classic screw driver (vodka and orange juice), then you’ll love this fizzy version. The Juicy Screw not only sounds exciting, but with a splash of DeKuyper® Pucker® Watermelon Schnapps and some watermelon ice cubes, you can turn this classic into a party favorite!
1 part vodka
1 part DeKuyper® Pucker® Watermelon Schnapps
3 parts orange juice
1 splash of Soda Water
Ice Cubes - cut watermelon into smaller pieces. Remove seed and rind then puree in a blender. Pour the puree into an ice cube tray and freeze until solid.
Cocktail - Mix vodka, watermelon schnapps, soda water and orange juice. Fill a separate glass with watermelon ice cube. Pour cocktail mixture over ice cubes and enjoy!
6. Southern Peach Cooler
Nothing says southern more than bourbon and peaches. Adding some citrus notes and a lemon-lime soda take this cocktail to a fun and fruity drink fit for your next get together. Heck, you can even try your hand at making sweet and sour mix at home. We suggest following the recipe by Mom4Real blogger Jessica.
2 parts Maker’s Mark® bourbon
1 1/2 parts DeKuyper® Peachtree® Schnapps Liqueur
4 parts sweet & sour mix
2 parts orange juice
Your favorite lemon-lime soda
In a cocktail shaker, combine bourbon, Peachtree® Schnapps, sweet & sour mix and orange juice. Shake well. Pour mixture over ice in a glass, then top with lemon-lime soda. Add orange and lime wedges as garnish.
7. Independence Spice
With a name like Independence Spice, you may think this is a drink best reserved for the 4th of July. On the contrary; with fresh flavors like mint, lemon juice and prosecco, this drink can easily be made for Spring-time gatherings as well. Tip: Carry this drink into the winter by swapping cranberries for the blackberries.
3 parts Maker’s Mark® bourbon
4-6 parts prosecco
1 part lemon juice
1 1/2 parts simple syrup
Muddle blackberries and mint leaves with 1/2 part of the simple syrup. In a cocktail mixer, add the remaining simple syrup, bourbon and lemon juice and the muddled mix. Add ice and shake well. Fill glass with crushed ice, then strain mixture into glass. Top with prosecco, and garnish with blackberries and mint leaves.
8. After Midnight in Kentucky
When looking for a fizzy drink that can please the palate of a mixed group (and by mixed we mean men and women), you can’t go wrong with this cocktail. We all know that men prefer the “not-so-obviously-fruity” drink, and we think this drink is just the right amount of sweet without being super conspicuous.
2 parts Maker’s Mark® bourbon
2 parts ginger ale
1/2 part DeKuyper® Razzmatazz® Schnapps Liqueur
Muddle the blackberries with the Razzmatazz® liqueur. Stir in bourbon and ginger ale and top with ice . Garnish with blackberries.
9. The Bromosa
Here’s another great fizzy drink that we can all agree will be a hit with the men. BUT HEY, why should they have all the fun? Adding orange juice and triple sec give this cocktail a refreshing twist to the popular Coronarita. The best part about this recipe is that it can easily be batched!
1 parts silver tequila
1-12oz bottle of your favorite lager, cold
1 part orange juice
1 part triple sec
Fill glass with tequila, orange juice and triple sec. Top with your lager and enjoy! Tip: Garnish with either lime or orange wedges, or both!
10. Root Beer Freeze
Last, but not least, is something most of us remember as a childhood favorite, but with an adult twist! Root beer floats combine fizzy and ice cream in one glorious drink. But how about we build on that with a Root Beer Schnapps.
1 1/2 part DeKuyper® Root Beer Schnapps Liqueur
1 part Cola
1 part vanilla ice cream
Blend the Root Beer Schnapps, cola and ice cream in a blender. Pour into a glass and top with whipped cream. Tip: Top with an extra scoop of ice cream for a real nostalgic feel.
